“Penny Horrors” Kickstarter is now LIVE!

I am incredibly excited about this.  I just launched a Kickstarter to fund a series of horror shorts that I am basing off this thread from Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1iwylh/what_is_the_best_horror_story_you_can_come_up/ Essentially they asked readers to submit their two-sentence scary stories, and man did the interwebs oblige. I was incredibly creeped out by reading through them and really wanted to make some into actual films! After gaining permission (Well hello copyright law! I totally saw you standing there) from the the posts’ authors, I realized that the main way to do this right was by paying people in more than hugs and sandwiches. Thus, this was born: I am incredibly happy with all the support Penny Horrors has received thus far. I worked with past collaborator Adam Levermore (Firefly propaganda posters as well as Team Unicorn artwork!) and a new genius animator and artist Efehan Elbi. Incredibly talented, and I’ll continue to work with ...

Guesting on Geek & Sundry’s Magic: the Gathering show “Spellslingers” with day[9]!

Ever since working on “The Guild” I’ve been lucky enough to be invited back to guest on Felicia Day’s network “Geek and Sundry” for some of her other shows. The first was “Tabletop“, a tabletop gaming show hosted by Wil Wheaton where I got thoroughly trounced by him, Amber Benson and Meghan Camerena (strawburry17 on YouTube). Now it’s on to play some Magic: the Gathering with day[9]‘s Sean Plott.  I learned I say “huzzah” a lot and have a very big aversion to cracking joints.

Giving advice to Jenna Coleman about San Diego Comic-Con

BBC America celebrated 50 years of Doctor Who at this year’s San Diego Comic Con by asking Whovians advice about surviving. They caught my sister and I eyeing the BBC America merchandise and grabbed us for our take on the matter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28yxL9OPzPs

Resident Evil: Vengeance

My good friend Matt Mullins knew how I felt about killin’ me some zombies, so of course I leapt at the chance to appear as Claire Redfield in his latest fan film short “Resident Evil: Vengeance“. The film premiered yesterday at ‪SuperCon yesterday in Brazil for a crowd of 20,000. Not too shabby! Click the header to jump to the video.

Appearing on NBC’s “The Winner Is” on July 18th as a guest expert!

I along with my lovely Team Unicorn cohorts appeared on NBC’s “The Winner Is” as guest experts deciding who moves forward in a multi-round singing competition.  Appearing on Episode 4 that premiered July 18th, we along with a other guests determine who “won” each round.  The number of votes is shown, but the contestants aren’t shown who got which result.  They can then “bet” either for or against themselves as to whether they think they won the round.  If they believe they didn’t, they can take a cash prize home with them as consolation.  A really good concept to combine singing competition and game show, plus we all get to experience some amazing singing talent! http://www.nbc.com/the-winner-is/contestants-experts/team-unicorn/ It was a little intimidating to have such a direct effect on whether these talented and brave performers would move forward in a competition that meant so much to them, but I was happy ...
